Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op has restored all but approximately 572 services this afternoon, which are widespread throughout PIE&G’s territory. So far, line crews have restored 11,498 outages predicted since Saturday afternoon, after several rounds of severe thunderstorms blew through northern Michigan.

Some services will not be restored until late Tuesday and possibly Wednesday due to large number of tree removals and broken poles. Members who are still off should make preparations to be without power for at least another day. All available PIE&G personnel are working diligently to restore power as safely and quickly as possible. Contractors and mutual aid crews from Wolverine Power, Traverse City Light & Power, and HomeWorks Tri-County are still assisting PIE&G tonight.

Members should contact PIE&G at (800) 423-6634 to report power outages and any downed power lines.  Everyone is cautioned to stay at least 25 feet away from any downed wires and to report them immediately to PIE&G, 911 or a local law enforcement agency.
