Our response

The safety of our workforce and our membership is always our priority here at Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op.  In response to the growing concerns surrounding COVID-19, we want to share our stance and approach to addressing this unprecedented event in our history.

Office Closure

In order to prevent unnecessary dangers to our employees and our members and to reinforce the potential severity of this pandemic event, we feel it is important to take this step.  Our first defense against the potential spread of COVID-19 is to follow the lead of our governor and close our office to the membership and general public through April 5, 2020.  We are planning to reopen on Monday, April 6, 2020.  In the meantime, members can call us or use the online tools available to service their accounts.

Service Reliability/Emergency Preparedness

Our organization operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.  That will not change, and our business operations will not cease.  We will be staffed and ready to respond to all emergencies and all other member requests in much the same way that we always have.  Other than the closure of our office, we do not anticipate any interruptions to our interactions with our membership.

Measures to Protect Employees

We are cancelling all nonessential business travel and are asking our employees to follow the guidelines put forth by CDC.
