7 pm Update to Wind Outages
As of this afternoon, Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op has restored approximately 12,700 services with an estimated 2724 services that remain without power. The strong winds yesterday caused widespread outages affecting PIE&G’s entire service area. The largest number of open outages are in Montmorency and Cheboygan counties, followed by Presque Isle and Alpena counties. Crews made considerable progress today in good weather and with the help of five mutual aid line crews and contract tree services. All crews will work into the night again and through tomorrow to repair and restore services.
With the large number of individual services that are out, some repairs will continue into late tomorrow and Monday. PIE&G extends its appreciation to its members for their patience. Crews are working as quickly as possible to safely restore all services.
Please call 1 (800) 423-6634 to report new outages or downed power lines. You may also view our outage map on our homepage on this website. Everyone should use extreme caution and stay away from downed lines until line crews and law enforcement can secure the area.
