1 pm Outage Update
PIE&G crews are making progress restoring service to outages that began early this morning. Currently, PIE&G has approximately 5,034 open wind-related outages. Approximately 4,804 services have been restored, with around 9,838 predicted outages that occurred since 5:30 a.m. All areas of PIE&G’s service territory have been affected.
Sustained winds reaching over 45 mph are expected to continue into Wednesday morning with developing heavy lake effect snow. Worsening weather conditions may contribute to additional outages and longer repair times to replace broken poles and remove trees from lines. Wolverine Power line crews are assisting PIE&G crews with restoration efforts.
With the large numbers of downed trees and outages, PIE&G anticipates that repairs will continue into tomorrow. Members who are currently without power should make preparations now to be without power overnight.
Check current conditions on our outage map at pieg.com and our Facebook page for updates. Please note, however, that members should contact PIE&G at (800) 423-6634 to report all power outages or any downed power lines. Residents are cautioned to stay at least 25 feet away from any downed wires and to report them immediately to PIE&G or local law enforcement agency (911).
