        Communities First
        Scholarship

The Communities First Fund assists our PIE&G member communities with many projects for emergency medical groups, fire departments, youth organizations, law enforcement agencies, local charities and educational organizations.

The program is funded through the voluntary rounding up of your monthly or annual utility bill to the next highest dollar. This will average approximately 50 cents per roundup. These few cents can and do make a difference in the communities of our PIE&G service area.

Funds from the Communities First Fund are distributed by an all-volunteer board representing each of the 9 counties served by PIE&G. The volunteer board is appointed by the Directors of PIE&G and meet four times per calendar year.

Enrollment is voluntary. By enrolling in the Communities First Fund you join a majority of our PIE&G members in assisting their communities.

The mission of the PIE&G Communities First Fund is to disburse funds for the benevolent and philanthropic needs (i.e. humanitarian, youth, educational, and civic development) of individuals and organizations in the service area of Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op as determined by the Board of Directors.
